At the Apex shaolin Kung Fu Academy, we want to give you the highest quality instruction possible, and we are honest aboutall our experience and qualifications. All our classes are taught by one of our highly qualified head instructors.

Shi Yan Ze
Head Instructor
Master Shi Yan Ze

Master Shi Yan Ze is a 34th generation Shaolin Warrior. He started training at age 10 at the Song Jiang Wushu Yuan in Shandong Province, China, during which he captured the Municipal championship. Seeking to further his training, he entered the Shaolin Temple in 1999 and studied Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu. A top student at the Shaolin Temple, he was picked to be in the Shaolin Temple performance team after a year of training, and has travelled abroad in the Terracotta Warriors performance tour.

He has 2 years of coaching experience in China at the Song Shan Shaolin Si Wu Seng Wen Wu Xue Xiao (Songshan Shaolin Temple Culture and Martial Art School) in Dengfeng, Henan. His specialties are Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, Hard Qi Gong, and Sanda, and he is also available for private lessons.

Master Fan Xing Chao

Coach Fan Xing Chao began training at age 11 at the Song Jiang Wushu Yuan in Shandong Province. In 2007, Coach Fan graduated from the Shen Yang Institute of Physical Education / Sports University. He holds a degree in Martial Arts and Physical Education and is a nationally certified, first level martial arts coach, and a nationally certified Wushu judge. In 2006, Coach Fan won the provincial wushu championship in Inner Mongolia, and as a testament to his educational diversity, he also won the Tsang Shi Cup National Tae Kwon Do championship (56kg).

He has 3 years coaching experience in China at the Ri Zhao Shaolin Wu Xiao (Ri Zhao Shaolin Martial Art School) and the Inner Mongolia Wushu school. He has also performed internationally in the Shaolin Warriors performance tour. Coach Fan's specialties are Competitive and Performance Modern Wushu and is also available for private lessons.

As a martial art parent for many years, Joe is committed to providing the best instruction and training environment possible for our students. He welcomes feedback from parents and students and is continually striving to improve the school in all aspects, for both students and instructors. He is enthusiastic about spreading Chinese martial arts in the Toronto community and has helped to bring the Shaolin martial tradition to Canada.
